I’ve been pushing non-stop to get my fall harvest done and all of my food preserved for the winter. Today’s project was Sauerkraut! I love kraut!!! The standard kruat and brats is tasty, but then think about it in a breakfast scramble! Eggs, sliced brats, sauerkraut, and cheese… It’s heaven in a skillet!
The recipe I found suggested placing rocks in a mason jar to help weigh down the cabbage in the brine. The thought of picking rocks from my yard, and then putting them in the same jar with food just didn’t work for me.
